How much does Solar PV cost, will it fall and how much electricity does it generate?
Installing solar PV costs between £5000 and £7000 per kilowatt. A typical domestic installation can be anywhere between 1.5 - 3 KWp. An unshaded, south facing 1 Kilowatt system roof can generate up to 850kWp per year.

Domestic Costs and Grants

At the present moment there are grants available for householders of up to 50% of the total installation cost or £2500.

Who can apply for a grant?
Individual property owners including private householders can apply for a grant . Applicant must be resident in the UK at the property address. The system must supply a permanent building (eg mobile homes not eligible) and the householder must have loft insulation cavity wall insulation (if possible), low energy light bulbs where appropriate and controls for your heating system.

Non - Domestic Costs and Grants

Community Groups, Public and Non Profit Organisations; 50% grants are available up to a maximum of £200,000 per project.

Interest free Unsecured Loans

If you area SME you are eligible for an Unsecured Interest Free Loan  of between £5,000 - £200,000 to put towards the installation of your PV system. This loan is paid back over four years.
