Whether you're buying, selling or just improving your home.
It pays to know how simple changes can effect the value of a property in the long term. New research reveals that many buyers are prepared to pay up to £10,000 more for an environmentally friendly home.
Though buyers may be initially swayed by a lick of paint or a mowed lawn more than two thirds look past cosmetic improvements to more important factors.
Rising fuel prices and greater environmental awareness are encouraging buyers to pay closer attention to a home's running costs and its impact on the planet.
Government Legislation - The government is starting to take notice and there is a fundamental shift in attitude which has resulted in the availability of Feed In Tariffs (FITs). At the moment you will be paid 14.38p/kWh (Dec14) (this tariff is index linked so will rise over the 20 year period) for every 1Kwh of electricity you produce. A 4Kwp system can earn you over £ 519 a year and may save you over £516 in energy bills plus £78 export giving customers a possible annual return totaling £ 1,113 of electricity.
Energy Cost Rises - Any system will provide you with inflation free electricity for at least 25 years. If more electricity is produced from your system than you use you can sell back the excess to your electricity provider. Currently Energy Prices are predicted to rise by at least 6% per annum.
Your Carbon footprint - A typical 4KW system would save 2.4 tonnes of carbon polluting the atmosphere. Even if you only have a 1 KW system installed your system will still prevent 568kg of carbon being emitted per annum.
EPC’s – Energy Performance Certificates - (these have become manditory since from April 2012. All homes wishing to install P.V. require an EPC. This EPC can be arranged by Northern Solar. Raise the energy rating of your home or building by installing a PV System.
A PV system installed on a commercial or industrial building can raise your EPC rating and can help your building achieve ISO 9001 or ISO14001.
