Alder Hey Hospital: 50kWp System

Northern Solar was selected by Crown House, the main contractor, to deliver a photovoltaic system for the newly constructed, world-renowned Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. As a trusted local provider, we were ideally placed to respond promptly and adapt our installation to suit the busy site environment.

A 50kWp ballasted console system was installed across two rooftop areas.

The site presented logistical challenges, with multiple contractors working simultaneously in a compact space. Thanks to our proximity and flexibility, Northern Solar effectively coordinated installation stages around ongoing site activities.

One key challenge was the uneven roof surfaces, caused by the selected surfacing materials. To address this, a console mounting system was chosen—its flexible design allowed it to accommodate variations in the roofing substrate, ensuring a secure and stable installation.
