Princes Court Apartments:
40kWp System

Completed and Commissioned April 2013

At the time of commissioning, this was the largest residential roof-mounted solar PV system in the North of England — a proud milestone for both Northern Solar and our forward-thinking client, Good Neighbor. As a social enterprise focused on scalable community solutions for climate action, Good Neighbor chose Northern Solar for our deep expertise in delivering complex solar installations with minimal environmental impact.

Our team successfully designed, installed, and commissioned a 40kWp solar PV system on the rooftop of a multi-unit residential building. A key challenge was maintaining the roof’s weatherproof integrity while maximising generation capacity. To meet this, we implemented a non-penetrating ballasted aluminium framework, mounted at a 10° incline to optimise solar exposure.
